The Endoplasmic Reticulum (E.R.) is responsible for lipid synthesis however ribosomes are responsible for protein synthesis. Ribosomes are also present in endoplasmic reticulum - rough E.R. Smooth E.R. contains no ribosomes.

What organelle is involved in lipid production?

The Endoplasmic Reticulum is involved in these processes. The rough ER is involved in protein synthesis. The smooth ER is involved in lipid synthesis.

Lipid synthesis occurs in which eukaryotic organelle?

The smooth endoplasmic reticulum

This is a membrane-bound organelle in eukaryotic cells that is the production and processing center of proteins and some lipids?

The endoplasmic reticulum (ER) is the organelle responsible for protein synthesis and lipid production in eukaryotic cells. It consists of rough ER, which has ribosomes attached to its surface for protein synthesis, and smooth ER, which is involved in lipid metabolism and detoxification processes. The ER plays a crucial role in protein folding, modification, and transport within the cell.

What cellular organelle contains lipid and protein molecules?

True or False Do Ribosomes carry out lipid synthesis?

False. They carry out protein synthesis.

What is an adiposome?

An adiposome is an organelle in the form of a lipid droplet with protein in its membrane.

Do ribosomes make lipids?

No they do not synthesize lipids. They invoive in protein synthesis.

What is an endoplasmic reticulin?

The endoplasmic reticulum is an organelle in eukaryotic cells responsible for protein and lipid synthesis. It consists of two regions: smooth ER, involved in lipid metabolism, and rough ER, studded with ribosomes that participate in protein synthesis. The correct term is "endoplasmic reticulum," not "reticulin."

Is er found in plant cells?

Yes, ER (endoplasmic reticulum) is found in plant cells. It is a membrane-bound organelle involved in various cellular processes, including protein synthesis, lipid metabolism, and detoxification. There are two types of ER: rough ER, which is studded with ribosomes for protein synthesis, and smooth ER, which is involved in lipid metabolism and detoxification.

Which organelle(s) is(are) involved in protein synthesis in the cell?

The organelle is the E.R.'s (Endoplasmic Reticulum) Its membrane of the E.R. is involved in membrane biogenesis. As the R.E.R (Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum) is involved in protein synthesis and the S.E.R (Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum) is involved in lipid formation. Lipids and proteins are used to make the plasma membrane of the cell. Hence E.R. is involved in membrane biogenesis. Hope this helped you. :D

Is the Endoplasmic Reticuluum located in the plant or animal cell?

The Endoplasmic Reticulum is present in both plant and animal cells. It is an organelle involved in various cellular processes such as protein synthesis and lipid metabolism.
