Phytoplankton. These micro-organisms, which cannot be seen by the unaided eye, are autotrophs-meaning that they are capable of self nourishment, or feeding themselves. Phytoplankton use photosynthesis for fueling their metabolic processes, to convert natural light into energy. These organisms account for half of all photosynthetic activity on earth! Phytoplankton perform cellular respiration by converting their energy from nutrients into ATP (adenosine triphosphate), which in turn releases waste products.

How is cellular respiration similar to photosynthesis?

Photosynthesis and cellular respiration are both cellular processes organisms use to obtain energy.

What organisms use cellular respiration but not photosynthesis?

Any organisms without chloroplasts, for example, all the animals.

Does the Eastern Newt use photosynthesis or cellular respiration?

All salamanders and newts, including the eastern newts, use cellular respiration. In fact, all organisms have cellular respiration. Respiration is how living organisms acquire energy from breaking down sugars. Photosynthesis is a process where plants create sugars from carbon dioxide in the air and water. No animals can perform photosynthesis.

What are the products of photosynthesis used by other organisms?

The products of photosynthesis is used by organisms because they products are glucose and oxygen. Organisms use the oxygen in cellular respiration and the glucose is used for energy.

Why plant cells undergo both photosynthesis and respiration?

Yes. They use photosynthesis to produce sugar from sunlight, and cellular respiration to digest the sugar for energy (ATP).

Does everything use respiration?

All eukaryotic organisms that have mitochondria can use the process of cellular respiration to provide energy. Plants and some other organisms that have chloroplasts can also use photosynthesis.

In what way is photosynthesis and cellular respiration interdependent processes?

the Calvin cycle of photosynthesis requires CO2 (carbon dioxide) organisms that are heterotrophs, like us, which cannot produce their own food consume autotrophs like plants, which do produce their own food. a by-product of cellular respiration is CO2 a by-product of photosynthesis is O2 organisms like us need O2 to live organisms like plants need CO2 to live (and to support us in life--we eat them because they have sugar [i.e., glucose])

What are the inputsoutputs of a cell?

Cellular Respiration Relationship In plants, plants use the outputs of photosynthesis (sugar, oxygen) as the inputs of cellular respiration. They then use the outputs of cellular respiration as the inputs of photosynthesis. It is a cycle.

How are cellular respiration and photosynthesis related in terms of energy?

Photosynthesis is the processes that plants use to transform sunlight into energy for the plants to use. Cellular respiration is very much like photosynthesis however rather then be simply just for plants it is how organisms as a whole convert various forms of energy in order to use it.

What organisms use Cellular Respiration?

Both autotrophs (plants) and heterotrophs (animals) use Cellular Respiration to break the organic compounds (produced by Photosynthesis) into simpler molecules and release energy.Bacteria, fungi, and archaea also use Cellular Respiration.animals only

What is the opposite reaction of photosynthesis called?

Photosynthesis is the opposite reaction of cellular respiration. Photosynthesis makes sugar to store energy, while cellular respiration breaks down sugar to use energy.

Where in the cell does cellular respiration and photosynthesis?

They use both but under different circumstances. During the day, they use photosynthesis. During the night, since there is no sunlight, they have to use cellular respiration to produce energy.
