The mesenteric arteries go to the mesentery. The mesentery is a fold of the peritoneum that pins the stomach, small intestine, pancreas, spleen, and other organs to the posterior wall (back wall) of the abdomen.
The mesentery is a double layer of peritoneum which connects and fix some parts of the small intestine (i.e. jejunum and ileum) to the posterior wall of the abdominal cavity. The mesentery provides a site to store fat as well as a site for blood vessel, lymphatic vessels, and nerves to reach the digestive organs.
