Poe was born in Boston, Massachusetts, then traveled around with his mother until she died. He then lived in Richmond, Virginia with his foster parents. They took him to England and Scotland for about 5 years, then they returned to Richmond. Poe went to the University of Virginia and lived at Charlottesville. That's about it for his "youth."
