I do not know of any names that under the Simplicitity name. They did for a time manufactur the Allis Chalmers machines, though the Allis' had their own transmissions and sheet metal. I think allis made a garden tractor for them that was described as "cream and red" that was an "odd ball" in the late 1970's or early 1980's that used all different belts. The brand is now owned by Briggs.

How much does zero turn lawn mowers cost?

The starting price for a zero lawn mover is 1000 dollars.Zero-turn lawn mowers are riding mowers designed to turn in a complete 360-degree radius without any forward or reverse motion, allowing the operator to turn the machine around in a very limited space. As with any other type of riding lawn mower tractor, zero-turn mowers come in a variety of sizes with various numbers of blades and blade sizes and varying horsepower.

How to Find Riding Lawn Mowers?

Deciding what type of lawnmower to get depends on two basic factors, the size of the yard, and the type of tasks needed. If you have a small yard, a standard push mower will usually suffice. Once the yard reaches a ½ acre or more in size, purchasing a riding lawn mower is something to consider, as riding lawn mowers cut grass much more efficiently than a push mower. While many riding lawn mowers can be expensive to purchase, most are reliable, and inexpensive to maintain. There are two types of riding lawn mowers, lawn tractors and zero-turn mowers. Of the two, lawn tractors are more versatile and far less expensive. Zero-turn radius mowers, however, are much more efficient. In addition to having twice the speed of a lawn tractor, zero-turn mowers can make very sharp turns, and thus mow in tighter areas. Regardless of the type, riding lawn mowers can get very expensive, costing in the thousands of dollars. There is a wide variety in the quality of mowers on the market, and accessories can really add to the final price. Mulching and bagging abilities are the most common accessories. In fact, there are so many options available that it can be easy to get carried away and purchase an accessory that is not really needed. Also, it is important to keep in mind how much maneuverability you need. If you want one that can make tighter turns and get closer to the trees, be sure to get one that is rear wheel driven, where the wheels can move independently of each other. Finally, it is important to remember that riding lawn mowers are more dangerous to use than push mowers. Tens of thousands of Americans are seriously injured every year, many are even killed. Riding lawn mowers can tip over on uneven terrain, pinning the rider and exposing them to the moving blades. They should never be driven on roadways, and under no circumstances should children under 16 operate a riding lawn mower.

Who makes lawn hawk mowers?

Snapper did. We have a 42" black hawk riding mower. We get our parts from snapper dealers. I believe they were going to sell them as a cheaper line to try to compete with mtd and other cheap mowers. Apparently it never worked out, don't see too many around.

Mow the Lawn in Syle With a Riding Mower?

When the time comes to trim the lawn, many people, especially those with smaller yards, still opt to do the job with a standard gas-powered mower. These units are affordable and get the task done, though it requires considerable exertion on the part of whoever is pushing the mower. Riding lawn mowers omit that necessity by allowing the operator to climb onto the mower and steer from the comfort of a seat. Riding mowers are built to handle large areas of land at once. Many of them are designed to resemble tractors, only in a smaller size. These mowers most commonly have manual transmissions, though hydrostatic transmissions are also popular; though mowers with hydrostatic transmission cost more, they are also easier to operate. Some riding mowers are electrically-powered, but these are not particularly common, and experiments with other sources of power have so far been unsuccessful. Many mowers include the ability to make mulch as one mows, which is environmentally friendly and cuts down on costs since fertilizer is no longer necessary. Some mowers include a bagging system so that grass clippings are automatically bagged up as the grass is cut. Additionally, many mowers are built to accommodate such devices as snow plows on the front so that they can be used for other purposes besides basic lawn maintenance. The least expensive riding mowers sell for as little as a hundred dollars, but one can more commonly expect to spend several hundred dollars on a mower of this sort, especially if it is expected to get a lot of use. Those who have especially expansive yards and are looking for a mower that will last a long time have higher-end options, with the most professional, efficient mowers costing tens of thousands of dollars. Whenever one is operating a riding mower, safety is an important concern. Young children should not be outside when a riding mower is in use, and those who are operating mowers are advised to wear suitable shoes to reduce the risk of injury. Those who take proper precautions may find that mowing the lawn in this way is not only speedier, it is also fun.

How long do riding mowers last?

That depends on the quality of mower that you purchase. Other factors are: Maintenence of the mower. Keeping the mower garaged. Severity of use. (Is your yard very hilly or do you have to mow 5 acres every week.) It is not uncommon for a riding mower to last 20 if it is cared for and well maintained.

What are the advantages of having a riding mower?

Riding mowers are ideal for those with health issues or those who do not have the strength to stand or push things for a long period of time. They have easy key starts for those who lack the upper body strength for the pull cord. Other benefits include attachments and accommodations available.
