Many, many compounds contain either hydrogen atoms, oxygen atoms, or both. Far too many to list here, in fact.

Most prominently water and hydrogen peroxide both contain nothing but oxygen and hydrogen atoms.

During photosynthesis water molecules are split into atoms of oxygen and what?

Since water is comprised of two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom, when it is split into atoms by plants during photosynthesis the only other atoms other than oxygen that are produced are hydrogen atoms.

How many atoms of hydrogen does oxygen have?

none - it's a pure gas, just oxygen none - it's a pure gas, just oxygen

When a plant dies it contains atoms of carbon hydrogen and oxygen?

Among other atoms, but plants contain carbon, hydrogen and oxygen whether alive or dead.

What things does water have in it?

Water is a molecule containing one oxygen and and two hydrogen atoms covalently bonded to each other (oxygen to hydrogen). As a whole, observable water is simply many of these molecules 'stuck together' by hydrogen bonds that form between the oxygen atom of one molecule and the hydrogen atom of another.

How many times is carbon oxygen and hydrogen in sugar?

Table sugar - sucrose - contains 12 carbon atoms, 22 hydrogen atoms, and 11 oxygen atoms per molecule. Other sugars have different formulae.

What are molecules considered to be if they contain carbon atoms covalently bonded to other atoms such as hydrogen and oxygen?

carboxalic acid

From which atoms does oxygen can be made?

Oxygen is made up of It is replenished by plants and other photosynthetic organisms. Oxygen also makes up most of Earth's oceans by mass. A water molecule (H2O) is made up of two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom. Although there are more hydrogen atoms in water, hydrogen has less mass.

What does H and O stand for in H2O?

Hydrogen and Oxygen ! - A molecule of water (H2O) contains two atoms of Hydrogen and one of Oxygen. Each Hydrogen atom is attached to the Oxygen atom (but not to each other)

In liquid water does the hydrogen atoms slide past the oxygen atoms easily?

No, because the hydrogen atoms are slightly positive and the oxygen is slightly negative they are attracted to each other by something called hydrogen bonds. It actually gives the water a sticky quality called cohesion.

What is significance of formula H2O?

The formula H2O signifies the following things. 1. A molecule of water is composed of two atoms of hydrogen and one atom of oxygen. 2. hydrogen and oxygen combine with each other in the ratio 1:8.

What kind of charge would oxygen atom have compared to the hydrogen atoms?

oxygen atoms have -2 charge where hydrogen generally have +1

How many carbon and hydrogen atoms are there in ethanol?

Ethanol has 2 carbon atoms and 3 hydrogen atoms attached to one of those carbon atoms with 2 hydrogen atoms and one hydroxyl (OH) group attached to the other - for a total of: 2 carbon atoms 6 hydrogen atoms 1 oxygen atom.
