Jacob doesn't say that, Edward does.
This quote is at the top of page 600.
In the dead silence, all the details suddenly fell into place for me with a burst of intuintion. Something Edward didnt want me to know. Something that Jacob wouldn't have kept from me.... It was never going to end, was it? The back of the Book Eclipse
idk but in eclipse Jacob says "i can handle the clouds but i cant fight with a eclipse." idk where it is but edward says its twilight the safest time of day for us Also in Twilight, at prom, in the book, Edward says twilight is the saddest part of the day. The end of the day. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jacob says Eclipse on page 600 in Eclipse:" i can handle the clouds, but i can't fight with an eclipse." In Twilight, Edward says twilight at prom on page 495: " 'Twilight, again,'he murmured. ' Another ending. No matter how perfect the day is, it always has to end.' " and Edward says twilight the first time on page 232 and 233:" 'It's twilight,' Edward murmured, looking at the western horizon, obscured as it was with clouds...". In New Moon, Bella says New Moon on page 74: "Tonight the sky wat utterly black. Perhaps there was no moon tonight-a lunar eclipse, a new moon." I am not sure if they even have the words "Breaking Dawn" in Breaking Dawn, but coincidentally, i am in the middle of reading that one again right now, so i will update this if i find it in there. =]
its called eclipse because it signifies how Jacob cant compete with Edward. Bella thinks of Jacob as her own personal sun and at the end of the book when she tells him this he says "the clouds i can handle but i cant fight an eclipse" meaning he cant even compete against Edward. Jacob is the sun and Edward is the moon and during an eclipse the moon covers up the sun meaning Edward will overshadow Jacob personally i think that is genius to think of Edward and Jacob as the sun and moon during an eclipse and to title the 3rd book eclipse Or, a more 'anti-Twilight' view, because you can't look at it directly.
it shows that Edward is overshadowing Jacob because Bella says she always thought of Jacob as her own personal sun and when she told him that at the end of eclipse he said "the clouds i can handle but i cant fight an eclipse" meaning he cant even compete with Edward
Yes.
in Stephenie Meyer's "eclipse" book? no. the name is from after the fight is over and Bella goes to Jacob's house. she tells him that he used to be her personal sun and balanced out the clouds nicely. he replied "clouds i can handle but i can't fight with an eclipse." (talking of edward. ) another possibility, less likely though is when edward kills Victoria and burns her, the purple cloud of smoke that rises might have looked a little like an eclipse, but i don't think so...

The third book in the Twilight series is called Eclipse because it represents a pivotal moment in the story where Bella must choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob, as well as symbolizing the idea of conflicts and choices coming to a head.
it shows that Edward is overshadowing Jacob because Bella says she always thought of Jacob as her own personal sun and when she told him that at the end of eclipse he said "the clouds i can handle but i cant fight an eclipse" meaning he cant even compete with Edward
yes! :)
Yes.
"Most people fall in and out of love many times in their lives." (bella)"I believe that. But I want you to know something - when it comes to all this enemies nonsense, I'm out. I am a neutral country. I am Switzerland." (bella)"I wondered if I was a monster. Not the kind that he thought he was, but the real kind. The kind that hurt people. The kind that had no limits when it came to what they wanted." (bella)"There are no rules that can bind you when you find your other half." (jacob)"You can have me the way I am - bad behavior included - or not at all." (jacob)"The clouds I can handle. But I can't fight with an eclipse." (jacob)
Yep. In Eclipse. They are helped by RiverClan.
they have a fight between Victoria and the cullens
Yes they do... They fight the Cullens (except Edward) and all the Werewolves (except Jacob)
