Mayella Ewell says "I got somethin' to say" and "I ain't going to say no more. " He took advantage of me." on page 256 of "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee.
Bob Ewell said that he was collecting kindling when he heard Mayella scream. He dropped his kindling then ran and then climbed over the fence and then ran to the window to see what was going on. That's when he saw Tom Robinson with Mayella. Then he ran to Heck Tate for help. To Atticus' surprise, Bob Ewell did not get a doctor to help Mayella.
Mayella Ewell had a troubled and strained relationship with her father, Bob Ewell. Bob was abusive towards Mayella and his family, showing little care or concern for their well-being. Mayella was a victim of her father's neglect and mistreatment.
Scout concludes that Mayella Ewell is a victim of her circumstances and her father's abuse. She sees that Mayella is lonely and isolated, and ultimately realizes that Mayella's actions are rooted in fear and a desire for companionship. Scout learns to empathize with Mayella rather than judge her.
Mr. Ewell comments that he's going to "get" Atticus Finch for defending Tom Robinson in court, as reported by Miss Stephanie.
Okay, in Tom's testimony(the truthful one), Mayella had asked him to come in to look at the door because it was 'broken'. (Tom walked past everyday and often did odd jobs for her). However, he saw that the hinges were working perfectly. He wanted to leave when Mayella asked him to come into the house to get something from the top of a large chiffarobe. That's when she came onto him. In Mayella's testimony, she claimed that he had never gone into the house before and that she asked him to come inside to bust up a chiffarobe. That's when Tom so-called raped her.
its a dirty version for a lap dance or somethin
The fact that Mr. Ewell was left-handed was significant because it indicated that he was likely the one who beat Mayella on the right side of her face. A left-handed person would naturally strike with their left hand, causing injuries on the right side of the victim. This inconsistency in the evidence pointed to Mr. Ewell's guilt in the assault.
Atticus treats Mayella and Bob Ewell with respect and dignity during the trial. He remains composed and maintains a polite demeanor while questioning them, despite their hostile and dishonest behavior towards him. Atticus upholds his principles of fairness and impartiality throughout the proceedings, demonstrating his commitment to justice.
Atticus brushes off Bob Ewell's threat, stating that Bob is all talk and no action. He believes that Bob wouldn't actually follow through with his threats. Atticus remains calm and composed in response to Bob's hostility.
