i am a massive fan of reptiles and blue tongue lizard happends to be my favourite reptile the blue tongue skink also known as the tiliqua skincoides getts there food by there tounge, there long blue tongue is there way of smelling the air although they have nostrils to smell they get a much sharper sent throught there tongues thats why when ever you see one it always pokes its tongue out either to defend itsself or to hunt a blue tongue sking tracks down odurs that come from prey and follows the scent until the lizard finds what it was hunting or it may just eat small and fragile insects and seeds life that belong on the floor blue tongue skinks are known for there blue tongue and they have also been known to steal dog food and cat food.

I have 2 blue tongues in my garage hidden behind boxes too. I've just left a saucer of water out near there and a bowl of dry cat food and apple pieces. I'm pretty sure when the weather gets colder they just find a spot to sleep and then come back out when they're hungry!

blue-tongues lizards can be fed live crickets and meal-worms or any types if insects that are not bigger then the lizard. you can also feed them small pieces of apple, banana or bits of lettuce. you can also feed them canned snails, or canned turtle food. canned dog food, or cat food can work as well also apple sauce (my blue loves it!) , blueberries, grapes, strawberries, eggs (raw, cooked, doesn't matter) Once in a while, maybe once a week a mouse. You can find them at petco (dead) they're called pinkies. They come frozen, so you can thaw it out and feed it to em.
