The incus, also known as the anvil, is one of the three small bones in the middle ear. It can be found in the middle ear cavity, located between the malleus (hammer) and the stapes (stirrup) bones. The incus plays a crucial role in transmitting sound vibrations from the ear drum to the inner ear.
The stirrup bone, also known as the stapes bone, is located in the middle ear. It is one of the three small bones called ossicles that transmit sound vibrations from the eardrum to the inner ear. The stapes bone plays a crucial role in the process of hearing by amplifying sound waves.
