Celery is a special part of leaf structure called petiole
Jamie Anderson says that celery is part of the onion family. I respectfully disagree. Which of us is right?
Celery is a noun. A sentence with celery in it is: The celery was mushy. A noun is a person place or thing. Celery is a thing which makes it a noun.
Which part of sundew plant is modified
yes, it has xylem and phloem. i learned that in 5th grade.NO! The stem of the celery is actually the thin disk at the base of the stalks. The part we eat is all leaf; specifically, the stalk is a modified petiole - the part of the leaf that connects to the stem. Each stalk is 1 leaf with a top blade that divides into leaflets. Farmers bred the plant to have the large fleshy petioles because people liked to eat them. I learned that just this week while writing a leaf lesson for my kids.
Vastly modified leaf stalks are found on celery and rhubarbs. The advantages of these stalks are that they are edible and grow in many temperate global regions.
the stem
Celery is a vegetable. It is just the swollen petiole (part of the leaf) of the plant.
