The part of the nervous system that enables us to experience the sensation of hot or cold, pain or pressure is the hypothalamus, located in the brain. The hypothalamus sends messages to the rest of the body. As an example, when you begin to shiver from cold, the hypothalamus sends a message to muscles to begin to work quicker, generating heat.
thermoreceptor neurons part of the autonomic nervous system
NERVOUS system
Cutaneous sensory receptors in the skin are part of the somatosensory portion of the nervous system.
Rene Descartes
The nervous system, through its two divisions: the peripheral and central nervous systems.
The nervous system helps in breathing. Take in oxygen and give out carbon dioxide. It helps the food in the body to burn and digest. The nervous system helps control your reactions, emotions, gives you the ability of communication, your sensations, thoughts, emotions, and memories.
The peripheral nervous system has two main systems that use cranial and spinal nerves: the somatic nervous system and the autonomic nervous system. The somatic nervous system controls voluntary movements and sensations, while the autonomic nervous system controls involuntary processes such as heart rate, digestion, and respiration.
The Integumentary System
The central nervous system, which consists of the brain and spinal cord. The message travels from the sensory nerves to the spinal cord, then to the brain. The brain tells the spinal cord what to do and the spinal cord then tells the motor nerves.
The integumentary system includes the dermis, epidermis, and cutaneous sense organs.
Within the dermis and subcutaneous layers there are different sensory receptors to detect sensations like temperature, pressure, heat, vibration etc.
the main part of the nervous system are the brain the spinal cord and the neurons. The Two MAIN parts of the nervous systems are the central and peripheral nervous system. THE CEREBELLUM IS PART OF THE NERVOUS SYSTEM
The integumentary system includes the dermis, epidermis, and cutaneous sense organs.
