All acids have similar chemical properties.

1) All acids generate hydrogen gas on reacting with metals. So, hydrogen seems to be common to all acids.

the all contain hydrogen

e.g.

sulfuric acid = hydrogen sulfate

hydrochloric acid = hydrogen chloride

nitric acid = hydrogen nitrate

and so on and so on :)
