That's correct. It's called the law of conservation of mass. It can, however, be converted to energy, according to the equation E=mc2, where E is energy, m is mass, and c is the speed of light.

this question is an intriguing one but however it also lacks accuracy. Atoms in fact can be created and destroyed. atoms are created by atoms under extreme heat, when extremely heated atoms come in contact with plods which are something even smaller then atoms, atoms are created Also atoms are destroyed when they reach tronomal speed which is 6 times the speed of light.

Energy can only be converted. For example, when you move, potential energy is converted into kinetic energy (moving), thermal energy (as a result of friction), sound (also caused by friction). We obtain energy from the sun which transfers energy into Earth by thermal energy and light energy.

Matter cannot be created or destroyed. Since atoms are the smallest part of matter, then they too cannot be created or destroyed.
