How does carbon dioxide increase breathing rate?

First you have to know first about inhalation and expiration Inhalation : We take oxygen from outside into our body Expiration : We release carbon dioxide from our body We need oxygen to burn our food an make energy, that is why we inhale it. Now, where does CO2 (carbon dioxide) comes from? because we only inhale oxygen, right? The food that we eat is burnt by oxygen to produce energy and CO2. The CO2 is dangerous for our body and hence should be taken away from our body. This is why if there is less oxygen and more carbon dioxide in the air, we tend to exhale faster. And because there is less oxygen, the body wants us to inhale faster to get more oxygen. Hence, the faster breathing.

What does oxygen and carbon dioxide do in the body?

moves out oxygen and removing in carbon dixode oxygen is necessary for life.without it no one can imagine of life. we get oxygen from atmosphere into the lungs from where it reaches to the every cell of the body. oxygeneted blood is purify blood, whereas deoxygeneted blood is impure blood. carbondioxide is necessary for plants etc. when we take breath the oxygen come in from the atmosphere to lungs and carbondioxide go out from the lungs into the atmosphere.

How is oxygen replenished in nature?

Plants take in carbon dioxide then when they take that they give off oxygen

Do you breathe out as much oxygen as you breathe in?

Yes the same amount will leave you as you take in on average but when you breathe out there will be more CO2 and less oxygen as your body uses Oxygen for it's metabolic functioning and releases CO2 in it's place. So yes same amount out as in but in a different form.

How does the cardiovascular system distribute oxygen to cells throughout the body?

Well you see, the respiratory and cardiovascular system work together. The oxygen moves throughout the path. It then ends up in the alveoli and sinks into the capillaries surrounding it. I think you can take it from there since the oxygen goes into the blood in the capillaries. Hope this helped!

How long does it take oxygen to circulate throughout your body?

What organism transports oxygen?

The lungs take oxygen into the body and the blood transports oxygen throughout the body.

What is the general function of the respiratory system?

When you breath in and out, your body is going through the respiratory system. You take in a breath and the red blood cells will take the oxygen throughout the body and turns to a bluish purple when the red blood cell losses the oxygen.

What happens when you take a breath?

You will trigger a panic attack. (I have them all the time). To prevent them, breath into a bag, the carbon is to limit the intake of oxygen. Too much oxygen can be a bad thing, strange but true. But I don't think it effects dogs, if it's repetative you might want to take him/her to the vet.

What organ takes oxygen into your body?

lungs take oxygen into your body

Why exchange of substances blood and cells take place through capillaries?

Capillaries have thin and permeable walls which allow the exchange of substances (such as nutrients, oxygen and CO2) to occur. This enables substances to dissociate throughout the entire body (as capillaries are present throughout the entire body).

When you die how long does it take to lose all of the oxygen in your body?

When your heart stops working, consciousness is lost due to lack of oxygen within a few seconds. The brain is dead in three minutes. Even if patient is revived after that, there is a high probability that he will be in a vegetative state for the rest of his life. Without being replentished through breathing, oxygen in the body would take only a short time to be lost throughout the body.

What structure aid the breathing?

The brain and the lungs aid the breathing of humans. The brain tells the body when to inhale and when to exhale. The lungs take in the air and disburse the oxygen throughout the body through the blood, starting in the heart.

How does a octopus exchange gases?

The "water-vascular" system uses ocean currents to move water throughout their body, and the starfish use their gills to take oxygen from that water as it circulates.

How do you get oxygen inside the body?
