Because he was the King of the UK. Many men looked up to him, and his popularity was strengthened when he decided to abandon his German titles and cut the British Royal family from the German one. He became a patriotic figure.

Jazz started to become popular in the 1920's. It was the decade of a new younger culture and their music was jazz. Jazz started in New Orleans and moved up north with the migrating African-Americans during WW1. Jazz increased black pride and the new culture of the Boomin Twenties. Idk when it actually started, I know it was a mix of songs, instruments, and rhymths of The cultures of black slaves from Africa. That combined with slave's songs and the then-modern songs of the whites produced something like jazz. It wasn't popular until after WW1. Hope this helped!
lake bluff is famous for being the most patriotic town in America during WW1. we sent the most men off to war for a town the size of lake bluff than any other town in the US.
