Polygenic Traits
The exception to Mendelism that involves the expression of traits controlled by multiple genes is called polygenic inheritance. In this type of inheritance, multiple genes contribute to the observable trait, and the trait often shows a continuous variation instead of distinct categories. Examples of polygenic traits include height, skin color, and intelligence.
The most dominant traits are the ones that control organisms genes.
On my Science homework was the question What controls Inherited Traits? After reading through my text book I discovered that Inherited traits are controlled by genes. So, the answer to the questtion is genes!

Polygenic inheritance occurs when one characteristic is controlled by two or more genes. Often the genes are large in quantity but small in effect. Examples of human polygenic inheritance are height, skin color, eye color and weight. Polygenes exist in other organisms, as well.
polygenic inheritance is when more than one genes are responsible for a character/phenotype. for example human skin color. if one want to draw a pedigree for that, he will not be able to succeed. although individual genes at molecular level is inherited according to mendel's laws. and mendelian inheritance simply follows mendels laws. also the character is controlled by one gene only. for example pea plant height.
Hello there! Traits controlled by two or more genes are for example skin color and height.
The inheritance of traits is controlled in organisms by genes. These genes come from either one or two parents. The alleles determine what traits are dominant or recessive in the new organism.
The most dominant traits are the ones that control organisms genes.

In humans, height is governed by polygenic inheritance, which means that many different genes contribute to a person's height, rather than just one.
eye colour is due to polygenic inheritance. 2 genes specify for the green/blue pigments and 2 or more genes encode for the brown pigment. the brown genes mask the blue/green genes. eye colour is purely genetic as it is not subject to environmental influences. it was originally thought that eye colour was controlled by 2 genes, but since the human genome project , it is now known that many more genes are involved.
