To get ready for a hurricane, people should be ready to get by without two weeks of food or water. They will not be able to flush the toilet. They should fill the tub with water and have a bucket so they can fill a bucket and flush it by hand. They should have flashlights all around. they should have a lot of food around they can eat without cooking it. Have bottled water to drink. It will be warm. It will basically be the same thing as camping out for two weeks only it will be inside your house or apartment. If you live in a large city, your water may not go out, but be prepared in case it does.
If you live in a detached house, be prepared to clean up your lawn. If you have a chain saw, make sure it works before the storm comes. Electrical equipment probably will not work.
