Probably ninety percent of the things posted on here are fact. But then, you have those people that don't research their answers before posting, and put what they THINK is true, but might not really be.
Obviously, Lincoln could not have commented on the internet. If you are referring to the quote about the difficulty in verifying something posted on the internet, attributed to Lincoln, it is a somewhat joking way of making that very point. Just because something is posted on the net does NOT mean it is true.

It is a collections of facts, people like facts, they like it so much that there exists whole Internet sites who are specialized in the collection of facts. So if you what a specific fact about something you are going to one their sites to get information.
