This can't be determined.

Marijuana is illegal and yet millions of Americans smoke or use it daily. It is also easy to test if one has smoked weed, yet people still do it.

While marijuana is not addictive (although arguable, NO ONE will argue that THC is a more addictive substance than nicotine) millions still smoke it daily. Making an addictive substance (that millions of people use each day)illegal would only cause those with strong morals and respect for the law to quit. While less people would start smoking, since the price of cigarettes would skyrocket (hard to believe they could get any more expensive already, yet people still use them after a huge price rise) those already hooked on them would "need their fix" and most likely continue until morals, law, money, or health stood in their way.

Another perfect example would be prohibition. From 1920-1933 Americans could not purchase or legally drink alcohol. In New York alone there were up to 100,000 speakeasys, or illegal drinking clubs. Alcohol was consumed on the down low, and people (mobs) made tons of money off smuggling alcohol.

Hope this helps. Sorry I don't have an exact percent, but I can guarantee MANY would still smoke.

Why do girls hate smokers?

It isn't so much that they hate smokers, just the smoking. They may see it as a disgusting and expensive habit. No girl would like to be with a guy who doesn't care about his health. Because a girl really loves her partner, she would not like to lose her partner in a very short time.

How much weight do you gain during smoking cessation?

It is not necessary to gain weight when stopping smoking. Body mass index is controlled by two primary factors -- nutrition and exercise. People who stop smoking and also improve their health habits regarding proper nutrition and exercise can become healthier / stronger/ leaner / fitter than they were as smokers. People who stop smoking but do not address nutrition and exercise -- for example people who replace smoking with eating candy or other sweets -- are very likely to gain weight as a result. If smoking was an effective means of preventing weight gain, there would be no overweight smokers!
