For the US Army, sergeant major basic pay currently is based on longevity...the length of time they have served. Using 26 years of service as an example, a sergeant major in 2010 made $6130. Counter that with what the first Sergeant Major of the Army made when he was selected to that position with 26 years, $657.30.

If the private is in the specialist's chain of command, yes. Otherwise, it depends on the situation. I would not want to be the specialist if he is harassing a private supervised by a sergeant in a different unit than the specialist.
A Staff Sergeant in the Marine Corps and Army - $3226.20 a month. A Staff Sergeant in the Air Force - $2828.40 a month.

Corporals are a bit uncommon. Basically, they're the juniormost noncommissioned officer. Most personnel go from Specialist directly to Sergeant. However, someone might be pinned Corporal first if they don't have enough time in grade/service for promotion to Sergeant, and their chain of command wants to promote them, or else they can't make the required number of points for promotion to Sergeant. As for their exact role, it depends in part of what exactly their occupation in the military is.
"Sit down."That is a command.
A Staff Sergeant (E-6) with six or seven years of service would make 56,361.00 annually as of the 2008 paygrade.
