How can I find out what is considered a 'good' IQ? I got a score of 118 and am wondering if that is normal or slightly above? Can anyone answer? Please email me directly: abigail.f.miller@gmail.com.
Thank you in advance and I appreciate the help.
Sincerely,
Abigail
IQ is a statistic based on standard deviation, that is how far the subject is from the baseline (or average). Each standard deviation is granted 12 or 16 points depending on the test. A single standard deviation is 68.2% of the popuation, meaning 68.2% of people have within 12-16 IQ points of 100. 100 being the baseline average.
Assuming half fall above average and half fall below, this means that only 15.9% of the population has above a 112 or 116 IQ depending on the actual test scaling. So, in either case you are in the top 15.9% in regards to raw IQ.
(11/118)*100 = 9.322033898305085%
Expressed as a percentage, 118/100 x 100 = 118 percent.
1.18= 118% You should move the decimal place two times to the right. So, 1.18/100 is= 118%
There are many smart (and stupid) people, men and women, from every race in the world.
The average IQ is 100, with two-thirds of the population having IQs between 85 and 115, and 95% of the population having IQs between 70 and 130.
To convert 118 to percent multiply by 100:118 × 100 = 11,800 %
(11/118)*100 = 9.322033898305085%
Expressed as a percentage, 118/100 x 100 = 118 percent.

some people have achieved extraordinary successes, although they don't have high IQs.
