Hard to tell, as the concentration of carbon dioxide in Earth's Oceans is on a moment to moment increase, due to the newly ever rising concentrations of carbon dioxide constantly spewed into Our Atmosphere.

  • Vegetation and Land emit 119.8 billion tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) into the atmosphere every year. They absorb 123.3 billion tonnes.
  • The oceans release 78.4 billion tonnes, and absorb 90 billion tonnes.
  • Fossil Fuel burning emits around 7.8 billion tonnes.

So the total released is 206 billion tonnes, and the total absorbed is 203.3 billion tonnes. So every year there is 2.7 billion tonnes of CO2 added to the atmosphere.

The percentage of CO2 absorbed by the ocean is around 38.3%.

What percentage of the air around us is oxygen?

The percentage of oxygen in the atmosphere is 20.75%. The atmosphere has many other elements that we breathe in besides oxygen. Oxygen needs to be present for life on earth.

Why is it harder to breathe he higher you go?

Because - the higher up the atmosphere you go - the less oxygen is in the air you breathe. Our bodies need a certain percentage of the air we breathe to be Oxygen - reduce the amount of oxygen in each breath, and it soon affects the body.

What percentage of the air you breathe oxygen?

about 21%

Oxygen composes what percentage of the air we breathe?

21%

What percentage of oxygen do you breath from the air?

100%. All of the oxygen that I breathe comes from the air! The answer that you were probably after, but did not ask, was about the percentage of oxygen in the air that we breathe. The questions may sound similar but they are not the same. The answer is a little over 20%.

Oxygen composes approximately what percentage of air we breathe?

21%

What percentage of oxygen in the air we breathe?

It is around 20%.

What is the approximate percentage of oxygen in the atmosphere?

Earth's atmosphere is about 21% oxygen by volume (for dry air).

What do you breathe in and what do you breathe out?

Oxygen in, Carbon Dioxide out.Another answerBreathing breathes in the atmosphere: not the whole atmosphere obviously, but its composition. Breathing in occurs because of the necessity of oxygen-entrance and breathing out occurs because of the necessity of carbon dioxide-exit.The air consists of 79% nitrogen and 21% oxygen and 0.04% carbon dioxide and equally tiny percentages of other gases. We breathe in this 79% nitrogen and breathe out an equal percentage. We breathe in 21% oxygen and breathe out 16% oxygen. We breathe in 0.04% carbon dioxide and breathe out 4-5% carbon dioxide.

How do you define air?

Air is the mixture of gases in our atmosphere that we breathe. I.E. Oxygen, Hydrogen, etc.

Where is oxygen found in the world?

Oxygen is found in the air that we breathe, roughly 21% of our atmosphere is Oxygen.

What percentage of air we breathe is nitrogen?

78% of the air we breathe is nitrogen. 21% is oxygen, and the other 1% is a mix of other gasses.
