The Renaissance Era.
The period of time when there was a renewed interest in culture and learning in West Europe is called the European Renaissance. The word is French meaning rebirth.
They were in Western Europe. The main driving force for learning was religion, which led to interest in the math & philosophy.
The Renaissance was a culture movement in Europe, more specifically Western Europe. It was a time when Europeans made great interest in literature, politics, art, science, and religion.
Because they experienced life in the Middle East they brought back culture such as; food clothing and ideas. So, they began trade with them and this boosted their economy in Europe. However, this is just one example.
Abraham Coralnik has written: 'Culture and Philosophy from Europe to America (Across the Great Divide Series: The Selected Essays of Abraham Coralnik, Vol 2)'
Renaissance philosophy was the period of the history of philosophy in Europe that falls roughly between the Middle Ages and the Enlightenment (The Renaissance).
The movement that included art, philosophy, architecture, and literature in both Europe and America was the Romanticism movement. This movement emerged in the late 18th century and emphasized individualism, emotion, and the beauty of nature. It had a profound influence on various aspects of culture and society in both continents.
Philosophy of life constitutes one of the most important pillars of life studies. The fundamental task of philosophy of life is to think deeply about the question, "What is life, death, and nature?" Philosophy of life was a major branch of philosophy in ancient times in Europe and Asia, but it seems to have almost completely disappeard from contemporary philosophy. There is no entry on "philosophy of life" in major encyclopedias. Interest in bioethics, end of life care, and environmental issues has nevertheless been growing rapidly. It is now time to reconstruct philosophy of life as a branch of contemporary philosophy
Europe
Eastern Europe experienced the greatest conflict.
Their independence from religious institutions
The crusaders brought back new ideas, inventions, math, philosophy, and had experienced another culture. When this happens the home culture changes because of the experience of the people returning and that changes the history of the society. The men who returned were also trained soldiers and many became mercenaries to fight for others which also changed the structure of Europe. A middle class began to grow because the men were also freemen and didn't owe loyalty to a particular landholder. Art began to express the Neoplatonic philosophy and that didn't make the church the centerpiece of the universe. When two worlds meet there can't be anything but a shift in the history of the world.
