Not at all. 57Matt57 here Some say that Count Dracula is based on the historic Vlad the Impaler, I personally think he is, there are many similarities, besides of course the name. Vlad Dracula used to impale his enemies on wooden stakes, this is very similar to the way vampires are killed, wooden stake to the heart.
Dracula is a Myth because an urban legend is a legend told from person to person claiming that it happened to someone. For example, the vanishing hitchhiker is a urban legend about how someone picked up a hitchhiker and saw them completely vanish after they gave them a ride. A myth is when a story is told about a certain creature or tale that is regarded as fiction. A story turns into a legend and then a legend into a myth. It is like a chain that either starts from a true story or a tale that is not scientifically proven. Based upon a person's opinion, a myth can be true. You will never know but that is the same with urban legends. You can either trust the person that passed you the information, or choose to ignore it until it happens to you. It is all your choice.

What legend? A legend is a story from the past that is believed to be historical but cannot be verified. A legend can be based upon any historical fact. For example, the legend of Romulus and Remus. Now there could actually have been twin brothers who were active in the founding of Rome, but there is no historical proof of this. The same is for the legend of Hercules. It is possible that there actually was a strong man who did some of the "labors" and the legend grew from there. King Arther is another legendary figure who more than likely was a historical figure and his works embellished into a legend. What legend? None whatsoever. That some people are incredibly depraved and do horrendous things is a fact. Then authors turn and mould stories to suit their purposes. Vampires are things of fiction, of fun.
Castlevania's Dracula is loosely based on Count Dracula and the historical figure Vlad Tepes (pronounced te-pesh) the Impaler. Dracula is castlevania is more like a spellcaster and demon and the Count Dracula in the novel is a bit more 'regal and aristocratic.' They bear similar personalities, however. You don't here Count Dracula in the novel using moves like hellfire and demonic megiddo, anyway! :)

Lady Pendragon is based on the character Guinevere from the Arthurian legends. Whether she was a real person that inspired the legend, or complete fabrication of some early celtic bard is up for debate. To my knowledge Lady Pendragon was not based on any historical figure you'll find in a text book.
