One person's opinion: I would go with a rabbit. They are much cleaner and quieter. I have four rabbits and couldn't be happier. They are each beautiful, playful and very sweet. I had two guinea pigs before but I sold them to a friend. They made a lot of noise and they always had a distinct odor about the no matter how clean their cage was.
