The best animal would be a dog- a good, non intimidating, trained, family dog would be best. They have been known to get along with other pets and treat them well, plus unlike cats they wont try to eat the poor fellow.
HINTS
First of all, the most important thing to remember with blind pets is to make them feel safe, give them a lot of time, love and attention and hold them. A blind guinea pig's hearing is much more sensitive than a normal guinea pig, so it is important to talk to them, even sing, anything that will allow them to recognize your voice. it is also important that they know where their water and food are placed.
Once your guinea pig is comfortable you can introduce them to new animals ( hint- the younger the guinea pig- the better, and the younger the other animal - the better).
Usually another rodent, especially rabbits, hamsters and gerbils should be ok but it is important to make sure they get along- if they are both males or both females they may be territorial. If your guinea pig seems stressed out- separate them.
another rodent would not be great because they would not be able to share a cage so they would either be climbing up the walls or not seeing each other or fighting. that would not work.you should get another guinea pig ask the vet for a very kind one and make it the same breed and gender. that would be very good for it. it does not matter what pet to get if it is blind.
yes, a health check doesnt cure your pet of anything it just well... checks the health of your pet. even if your pet is going blind there's not much you can do. the guinea pig will still be able to live just the way it had before.
yes guinea pigs are easy to handle and bond with their owners very well they are a great pet for kids.
i would say a rock. or a guinea pig if you want a REAL pet
well it might be not well and you might have to take it to a pet shop or a vet!
I would look at your local pet store or try online
You can purchase a guinea pig at a pet store or pet shop.
If dead, the guinea pig can be buried (maybe in the garden) as any other pet would be.
I would recommend a guinea pig because they are more playful and want you to hold and love them.
A 9 year old would likely do really well with a fish for a pet. It is also likely that a 9 year old would enjoy a hamster, small mouse, or even a guinea pig.
It common knowledge that dogs and guinea pigs go well together. In particular, terriers are known to display a liking for guinea pigs. Alternately, it has also been reported that snakes also get on well with guinea pigs.
Just talk to it like you would a pet dog or cat.
No; that would be very cruel.
