You misunderstand. He didn't want to "lay down" natural rights, but to give natural rights. It was john Locke who come to this revolutionary idea.
The French Revolution called for liberty, equality and fraternity, and they sought the rights that were given to free and independent people. They sought what the Enlightenment philosopher's defined as man's natural or God given rights. They also sought sovereignty of the people, with the government committed to protecting their rights rather than taking them away. They wanted equal rights to mean everyone would be treated the same, and equal rights would mean equality for all, not just select classes.
The Non-Federalists wanted tha Bill of Rights to ensure that that the Government could not take away the rights of the people.
yes because he wanted the best for people and for them to have natural rights
The term "natural rights" is one used by the enlightenment thinkers in language to try to get the concept across that people have basic rights. When this was written people didn't think they had any rights because they had always had a king. This type of thinking is revolutionary for it's time and to express it was treason to the king. In reality, there are no "natural rights" but there are the rights given to us in the Bill of Rights. The men writing the constitution wanted to make sure that those rights were written down so there could be no fuzzy thinking on what a right was exactly. So, we use those rights given in the constitution instead of having an argument over what a right is exactly and if we have it at all.
Anti-Federalists.
because the people wanted there own states and all blacks wanted the rights as that of the white people.
people wanted new rights and land
They wanted protections against tyranny of the central government.
Locke believed that governments were formed to protect the rights of people. As such, he believed strongly in the concept of government only by the consent of the governed; the social contract; human rights to life, liberty, and property; and other political theories that were designed to protect the rights of every person.
no he was fighting for all Rights to the black people and wanted to become one with the white people.
if your economy is good many people will be rude so many people wanted rights
