She told him to let the captives be brought forth and it be proclaimed that no one could go near her. The King agreed, and everything seemed to be going well until they actually boarded the ship. However, at the mouth of the harbor, they were driven back by wind. The King was going to kill them, but Athena appeared and told him to spare them, as they were under divine guidance.
