Generally, it is radiation from the sun and geothermal energy that warm the planet. Greenhouse gases help regulate the temperature on the surface though.

A gas which is important is carbon dioxide. There are others too, such as

What gas in the atmosphere will bring about a warming of the lower atmosphere?

Carbon dioxide (CO2) absorbs heat rising from the surface of the earth.

What happens when there is great amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere?

Carbon dioxide (CO2) is a greenhouse gas which is causing Global Warming. When there is a great amount of it in the atmosphere, then it absorbs a great amount of heat. This makes Global Warming worse.

Why is Co2 is a greenhouse gas?

because it has the ability to trap heat, thus warming the earths atmosphere :)

What is the gas that absorbs ultraviolet radiation?

The ozone gas present in the atmosphere absorbs ultraviolet radiations. This gas is present in the form of ozone layer in the atmosphere.

Which gas in the atmosphere Global warming focuses on an increase in the level of heat?

Carbon dioxide (CO2) and also Methane.

What is the result of increased carbon dioxide in the atmosphere?

Carbon dioxide is a naturally occurring greenhouse gas. At present concentrations, it helps maintain global temperatures at a level that is comfortable for humans and other animals that have adapted to the present climate. Increasing the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere can result in global warming, by trapping more heat. This occurs when humans burn fossil fuels, manufacture cement of destroy forests.

How is the atmosphere related to global warming?

Greenhouse gases in the atmosphere catch and hold the sun's heat. These gases are building up as we burn fossil fuels. The more gas there is the warmer it gets. This is causing global warming.

Ozone gas in earth's atmosphere absorbs infrares rays from sun?

Ozone gas in earth's atmosphere absorbs UV rays. It does not absorb infrared rays.

What is the role of gasoline in global warming?

Gasoline is one of the fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas), the burning of which is causing global warming. Carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas, rises into the atmosphere where it traps heat.

Does liquid to gas release heat?

No. When a liquid becomes a gas it absorbs heat.

Which gas absorbs harmful ultraviolet radiation?

Ozone gas absorbs UV rays. It is present in the ozone layer of atmosphere.

What will happen if you have more carbon dioxide in earths atmosphere?

Carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas. More of it in the earth's atmosphere means that more heat will be retained. This will, indeed is, causing global warming.
