It took a lot of planning for Hillary and Tenzing to reach the summit of Mount Everest. They took with them on their climb all the facts and mistakes of the climbs from the 1920's and 1930's. Tenzing also had some knowledge of Mount Everest as he was on it in 1952 with a Swiss team.
