This is a big question and a major technical issue for materials scientists and engineers. The short answer is: there are no truly scratch-proof plastics. Plastic is intrinsically soft material, because it is carbon/petroleum-based. Most minerals (rocks, glass, etc) will easily scratch plastic because they are made of metal oxides, which are intrinsically hard materials consisting only of metal-oxygen bonds. When it comes to scratch resistance, a harder material can always scratch a softer material. So no matter what plastic you have, there will always be a harder material out there that can scratch it, such as diamond, alumina, or zirconia.
Some plastics are more scratch-resistant than others, however. Examples of scratch-resistant plastics include polycarbonates, CR-39, polyurethanes, and PTFE. Any plastic can be made more scratch-resistant by applying a scratch-resistant coating, which can be composed of any number of highly engineered silicone resins, epoxies, acrylates, etc which can be thermally or UV-cured. There are hundreds of brand names for scratch-resistant coatings that advertise varying levels of abrasion resistance; many use a steel wool test to define just how scratch resistant the cured coating is.
Hope this is along the lines of what you wanted to know.
They will scratch and mess up. They will scratch and mess up. They will scratch and mess up. They will scratch and mess up. They will scratch and mess up. They will scratch and mess up.
Shower trays can be made from a number of different materials as long as they are water proof. Some of these materials include plastic, metal, and even stone or marble.
um
Hardness of ductile materials can be determined by following methods..... 1) Brinell Hardness Test 2)Vickers Hardness Test 3)Rockwell Hardness Test 4) Scratch hardness test
Scratch
Wooden desks with heavy scratch coating will work fine, but will still be scratched if you move a plastic monitor or the like.
metal is not best as it will scratch try using a heat proof plastic spatula
No it does not have a scratch proof display or casing like new nokia N97 or N86.
American Tourister makes both water and scratch resistant luggage.
A varnish or lacquer would do the trick, though nothing actually makes wood scratch proof just scratch resistant
Yes
NOTHING
yes, blu-ray discs are scratch proof, they can last way longer than dvds. but blu-ray discs can fingerprint.
It certainly is possible to scratch it, but this stand is scratch resistant and won't scratch easily - but almost nothing out there is really "scratch proof". Generally, no it won't scratch easily.
Nope. Can glass scratch glass? Can plastic scratch plastic? A material has to be harder than another in order to scratch it. Like materials obviously have the same hardness.
It is far more scratch resistance and child-proof than DVDs are
its cheaper to make a plastic from scratch !!
