Arrival of the Queen of Sheba may be played as either the processional or recessional for a wedding.

On a personal note, I find it a very fitting song to be played as the processional. For added effect, commence the song the moment the doors are opened and the bride is seen.

Should you have a wedding shower for a couple that is having a private ceremony?

It is proper etiquette to only invite people to the shower who will also be invited to the wedding. If the couple is having a private ceremony with only family, then only invite family to the shower. If they are eloping and not inviting anyone, it would be safest not to have a shower because those at the shower would be expecting a wedding invitation.

Should a lot of money be spent on pomp and show at a wedding ceremony or should it be solmnized in a simple way?

It depends on the couple and their tastes. An extravagant amount of pomp would be obnoxious, but making the ceremony location appear nice is important to many couples.

What time should the wedding cake be delivered before a wedding?

1-2 hours prior to the reception... or if the ceremony and reception are in the same location, 1-2 hours prior to the ceremony. You will also have to consider if it will be outside/perishable... In which case you will have to refrigerate it and take it out about 1-2hours before you plan to cut it.

If you get married on paper and then have a wedding ceremony a couple months later is it wrong to make a wedding registry?

No. Many people fill out marriage certificates on one day and have a wedding ceremony on another day. A wedding registry is a tool for friends and family to get a better idea of what gifts you might like, so it's helpful whenever your ceremony is. Just remember the etiquette about registries - it's tacky to proactively broadcast them. Info about where you're registered should be provided upon request, not (for instance) specified in any invitations or broad communications.

How should you arrange your wedding booklet?

First you should start with a coverpage then a page of thanks then the ceremony location then all the things that have to do with the ceremony (e.g. photographer, flowers, album, gown) then you continue with the reception hall then the menu then the guest list then the total expenses and you're done...

Should i go to the wedding of a friend who sent a Save the date or the wedding of a family friend?

You should always keep the date with the first person that asked you. If your friend told you to save that particular date and it obviously happens to be on the same day as a wedding for a family friend then you should choose the first friend. Another solution, and depending how far apart the weddings are; you could attend the wedding ceremony of one and the reception of another.

How much should you pay your wedding musicians?

According to The Wedding Report (focused on statistics in the Wedding Industry), wedding couples in 2008 paid anywhere from $245 to $847 for wedding musicians. I don't know whether this includes JUST the ceremony and reception or everything thrown in, like the cocktail hour, dancing etc. In Cincinnati, the 'going rate' for a wedding pianist to play at your ceremony is anywhere from $150 to $280.Make sure this includes the pianist's attendance at your wedding rehearsal! Extras probably include asking the pianist to accompany for a vocal/instrumental artist at your wedding; or staying later to play for the reception or cocktail hour.Hope this helps!

Planning a Religious Wedding Ceremony?

Many couples wish to base their wedding ceremony on their faith, which can alter wedding preparations and plans quite a bit. There's quite a bit involved in planning a religious ceremony, but with proper planning and these useful tips, the task should turn out to be a lot less intimidating and a lot more do-able.The first thing to do is confirm this idea with your fiance. Although you both might be on the same page with these plans, it's best to make sure that you're both on the same wave length with having a religious wedding ceremony. Make sure that family and friends know as well. Believe it or not, withholding this kind of information can cause some confusion later on down the road. The next item of business is speaking with the priest at your local church for advice on holding this religious wedding ceremony. Ask about what kinds of options you have at your local church and find out whether it would be do-able or not to hold your wedding ceremony at the church you practice your faith at. Also, find out if the pastor or priest would be willing to conduct the ceremony. If the church gives you the go-ahead, state your budget and ask for a ballpark figure of what it would cost to hold the wedding ceremony there. Always remember however, even though you're having a religious wedding ceremony, it doesn't have to be held in a religious structure.Next, you may want to begin planning what passages and readings you'd like used in your wedding ceremony. This may take a great deal of time considering that you would have to do a bit of research to find passages that fit you and your fiance's relationship, but you will definitely want to do this.It will also be a good idea to decide whether you'll both be lighting the unity candle or not. This is a common practice in religious weddings, and it wouldn't be far-fetched for the two of you to do it yourselves. You can also decide to write your own vows, or go with traditional ones.Planning a religious wedding ceremony is a lot like planning an ordinary one, except you will want your faith to be a part of the wedding just as much as you and your fiance are. Chances are that you've attended a religious wedding ceremony yourself at least once, and you can even use examples from those weddings in your own.
