Standard is that it is pointing at the number one position on the distributor cap.
behind the crank shaft pully and the timing cover and then another pully is there two bolt hold it on
A Crank Shaft Position Sensor is a magnetic sensor that determines the position of the engine's crankshaft. It is used to set the electronic timing for the car's computer, so it is a very important part of the electronics.
It measures the position of the crankshaft during it rotation and the engine computer uses that for ignition and fuel timing.
the top gear which is the cam gear should be at 6 o clock, the bottom which is the crank shaft should be in the 12 o clock position, your rotor should be aimed at the no 1 cylinder on your distribtor cap.
It is on the left front side of timing cover behind the balancer.
Follow the front wire on the distributor and it will lead to the crank shaft position sensor. hope this helps..
Check the crank shaft pulley
It's behind the timing belt cover on top of the crank pulley.
It is on the front of the crank shaft and under the timing belt cover. You have to remove the crank pulley and all the belts and then the lower timing cover. It is not a job for a beginner.from : http://repairpal.com/crankshaft-sensor-569
The crank shaft position sensor should be located next to or In behind the timing belt dust cover. You may have to remove the harmonic balancer pulley to reach them.
