Are you talking about weapons?

If you are, here are some weapons that were used during WWI:

  • the machine gun
  • poison gas
  • tanks
  • submarines

Trench warfare: where soldiers dig and fight in trenchers. In WWI, soldiers had to dig miles of parallel trenches to protect themselves from enemy fire. The area between opposing trenches was known as "no man's land." Trench warfare was used on the Eastern Front during WWI.

Unrestricted submarine warfare: the use of submarines to sink without warning any ship - including neutral and unarmed passenger liners - found in enemy's waters.

Some of the plans/strategies were:

  • the Schlieffen Plan - created for the Central Powers, and named after General Alfred Graf con Schlieffen. It called for attacking and defeating France on the Western Front, then quickly going to the east to fight Russia.
  • the Gallipoli Campaign - a campaign created for the allies that called for attacking the Dardanelles, in the Ottoman Empire. It was a sea strait that was the gateway to the capital of the Ottoman Empire, Constantinople. If it succeeded, the Allies thought that they could take Constantinople, defeat the Turks, and establish a supply line to Russia.
