Correction. He declared Mothers day an approved Holiday in several states. And not a national holiday of the USA. Even it was later suspended again in most states, because the day was introduced by feminist movements, who did nt like it, when it was picked up by commerce for rip off. They then fought to remove that day again. The first country to declare Mothers Day an OFFICIAL NATIONAL holiday was Adolf Hitlers Germany in 1933 (celebrated first time in 1934) Followed by fathers day 1934 After World War Two both were abolished again, as heritage of the Nazis. But from 1949 on the idea of a day to honour mothers worldwide was picked up again and introduced by many countries (Fathers day followed from 1970 on)
