What does God's Salon the painting by Rene Magritte represent?

Magritte wrote about this painting; 'I can imagine a sunny landscape under a night sky; only a god is capable of visualizing it and conveying it through the medium of paint, however. In the expectation that I will become one, I am dropping the project...' It takes a few reads to understand that statement, but basically he says the painting is a (cliche?) sunny landscape but how it would look at night. its part of surrealism.

Paint the Town Red in a Ladybug Costume?

People tend to think of most insects as creepy and ugly, but ladybugs have a special place in insect lore because they are so vibrantly colored and highly regarded. Beloved by farmers because the eat aphids, tiny insects that are capable of destroying plants, ladybugs have cheerful associations and are featured on everything from dinnerware and statuary to clothing and jewelry. You might even see a Volkswagen beetle drive by with red paint and black spots. If you dress as a ladybug, you will find plenty of people who will appreciate your costume. Ladybug costumes are often available in stores, but if you are unable to find one, the first thing that you should do is find matching plain red or black clothing. Pants and a long-sleeved shirt work well for this purpose. If you want to go with something more stylized, you could also wear a dress. Once you have your outfit picked out, you can decide how you would like to depict the spots. If you have chosen black for your outfit, you will need to have some type of added layer to represent the ladybug's distinctive shell. That might mean a cardboard circle strapped to your back or a red cape with black spots or an actual plush half-shell that straps on like a backpack. If your outfit is red, on the other hand, you might just want to put black spots on it, using permanent markers, pieces of material or pieces of construction paper. One way that you could decide to make your costume a little more unique is to make your spots in the shape of hearts and say that you are not just a ladybug, you are a lovebug. You could also come up with a headband featuring antennae that will bob over your head merrily as you wear your costume. Ladybugs are very popular insects, so chances are that you will not be the only ladybug out and about on Halloween night. Have fun comparing the different costumes and enjoy yours, which will be a vibrant reflection of your own creativity and personality. How could anyone hate an insect like that?

What does a tiger tattoo symbolize?

The tiger symbolizes invincibility, might, and power. In Japanese tattoos, the tiger is sometimes partnered with a dragon to symbolize heaven and earth: yin and yang. The tiger represents strength purity and beauty. Tiger Designs & Symbols - The Tiger is a potent symbol across Asia in many cultures and has long been a fixture in indigenous tattooing in India, Burma, Thailand, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, China and Japan. Tigers are associated with power, ferocity, passion and sensuality, beauty and speed, cruelty and wrath. The appearance of a tiger in a dream may signal that new power or passion may awaken within you. In Asia the tiger is associated with the power and might of kings, a position similar to the Lion in the Middle East and Europe. The Koreans call the tiger the 'King of the Animals'. In Hinduism the god Shiva, in his aspect of the destroyer, is depicted wearing a tiger skin and riding a tiger. The tiger is generally seen as a symbol of power and strength, but also of destruction and violence. The tiger can be a symbol of both life and death, evil and evil's senseless or destructive power. In China, tiger images are used as charms to ward off evil. Stone tigers are common protective guards outside of buildings and houses. At the time of the Chou dynasty, images of tigers were hung in pregnant woman's rooms to protect the unborn baby. In some areas tigers are thought to punish sinners, in the name of a supreme being, by attacking them. Some Asian cultures have stories about weretigers, people that can change themselves into tigers, much like the werewolves seen in horror movies. According to their legends, the Tibetans and Na-hsi of the Yunnan province in China have descended from tigers. The Na-hsi give tiger figures to boys and girls at their coming-of-age ceremonies and also to newly wed couples.
