Aunt Alexandra believes in treating children like children. She disagrees with Atticus's approach because he treats his children more like adults. He answers all questions honestly and talks to them like they are adults.

Aunt Alexandra is concerned about Scout's tomboyish behavior and lack of conformity to traditional gender roles. She believes that Scout should act more like a proper young lady to fit in with their society's expectations.

Aunt Alexandra does not think that scout is enough of a girl. For example: Scout gets into fights with the boys at school, scout uses cuss words, scout does not act enough of a girl and scout is always playing with Jem.
She disapproves of her not acting like a lady, i.e scratching her head. and wearing overalls, as overalls are not feminine and she should be wearing a dress
