I've heard of blown turbos, busted seals, and bad injectors. I've got a 2007 F-250 XL 6.0L Powerstroke and I've had one problem. It's whole life is pulling a 7,500 pound trailer, with scrap metal in the bed and 3 passengers in the regular cab. Each passenger weighs from 140 to 230 pounds. At 47,500 miles an injector went out. I got that fixed and that was it. It's now going on 54,000 miles and runs strong. When it's not pulling a trailer and hauling scrap metal, it's deer season where I use it to transport our deer from the woods to the check-in shop to the meat shop in 20*F weather or sometimes lower. By the way, I'm in West Virginia. This winter it sat with 1 1/2 feet of snow on it for over 4 weeks. When Spring came and it was about 35*F I pumped the gas pedal and she started right up but sputtered for about 5 minutes. My trucks definetly live a hard life. That's why I need a Ford. And not a piece of sh*t Chevy Duramax!

Who make the powerstroke for Ford?

International Truck and Engine Company makes the PowerStroke Diesel engine for Ford. They also made the 6.9L IDI engine and 7.3L IDI engine. They made the 6.9L IDI, 7.3L IDI, 7.3L Powerstroke Diesel, 6.0L Powerstroke Diesel, and 6.4L Powerstroke Diesel. Ford strayed away from International for 2011 because of many problems with the 6.0L and 6.4L. For 2011, Ford is making its own diesel engine, the 6.7L Powerstroke Turbo Diesel V8.

Is the powerstroke 6.0 diesel any good?

The 6.0L Powerstroke diesel engine does put out good power but there are much more better engines that the 6.0L Powerstroke. Some problems consist of blown turbos, blown injectors, and broken seals. I know guys that have between 250,000 miles to 300,000 on their 6.0L Powerstrokes with minimal problems. My 6.0L is a 2007 model and right now it has 55,000 miles and I've had no problems yet. It's proven to be reliable to me so far.
