If I knew I would not ask.
After about 1995 all Dakota flywheels would have sensor targets on them.
Bank 1 sensor 2 would be the sensor after the behind the catalytic converter.
i would have to bet on the speed sensor
Typically, a bad "speed sensor" will provide an incorrect voltage input to the vehicles computer. That, in hand, would cause a problem in the speed-o-meter reading, as well as shifting problems.
Yes, a bad O2 sensor would cause a 2002 Dodge Dakota to stall. It would also cause bad fuel mileage and hard idling within the vehicle.
Check your ambient light sensor. In American vehicles I have only seen the sensor on top of the dashboard. It looks like a little bubble sticking up.
Rear camshaft seal bad. Replace. located behind cam sensor.
If the crank sensor is not working, the engine will not run.
If it had a bad O2 sensor the "check engine" would be illuminated and a code would be set indicating which sensor is at fault. You probably have other problems causing that backfire to occur.
Crank sensor is in the top of the transmission housing at the back of the engine. Cam position sensor is in the distributor.
There is a problem with the downstream oxygen sensor. I would replace it.
