When we intake air in our lungs, the bronchi present inside our lungs have small openings through which oxygen is diffused in blood vessels and carbon dioxide is diffused out of blood vessels and the blood gets enriched in oxygen content and is moved towards heart from which it is then transported towards various parts of the body in each and every cell. The cells then diffuses oxygen from blood to their power house called mitochondria for power production in form of energy and 'by product' i.e. carbon dioxide is then diffused back in blood which then route towards heart and from heart it is then taken to lungs and he whole process is repeated again and again.
Well, basically the air goes through your nose, gets heated in the larynx, passes the pharynx, goes down to the trachea (or windpipe), goes into the left or right lung, then goes through the many bronchioles in your lungs, and then it goes into the Alveoli (really tiny air sacs at the end of bronchioles), and that's basically where gas exchange takes place. Carbon Dioxide leaves blood cells and oxygen enter the blood cells. Then it goes back into the heart, and so on, and so on.
Hope it Helped :D
Ayraayra: It is called facilliated diffusion.
Gas exchange is the process by which oxygen is transferred from the atmosphere to bodily tissues for use in metabolism; and the gas produced by metabolism, carbon dioxide, is transferred from tissues to the atmosphere.
Simple diffusion
"diffusion"
Diffusion
False
Because to carry out the process of diffusion of gas.
The Process of gas exchange is called Respiration
Alveoli- these are the small sac-like structures where gas exchange occurs with the blood. Its creates an ideal site for gas exchange between the air in the lungs and the blood in the capillaries.
The actual sites of gas exchange within the lungs are the alvioli.
There is exchange of CO2 and O2 in the lungs of aerobic vertebrates. The process is generally referred to as gas exchange. It depends on what organism you're talking about. It could be the skin, gills, lungs, or any other structure. In the lungs is the Alveoli.
The gas exchange that takes place in the lungs are carbon dioxide and oxygen.
it traps particles such as dust and pollen
Diffusion is the process that allows the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide in the alveoli. This process is one of passive transport.
The efficiency of gas exchange in the lungs of vertebrates is greater because it increases the lungs' internal surface area.
The bronchi are the tubes that actually carry the air to the lungs, they have a different function than the alveoli which function in the process for gas exchange.
