Create and new folder in my documents/EA Games/Sims2 named Downloads and put the download in that file, THATS IT!

Have you fully downloaded it? if it is from the sims2.com website you have to go to where you saved it and click on it. A message will come up, you then have to click install. If it is from another websit you have to extract or unzip the files, using an extracting program like winRAR, then you must extract to this folder (in bold) under- EA games/The Sims 2/Downloads

You need to download CC from sites like modthesims.info, and make a folder in your The Sims 2 folder (documents/ea games/the sims 2, not program files) called Downloads. Place the unzipped/unRARed file into your downloads. Note that downloading in-game CC like the Ford cars makes that folder automatically.

It all depends on which folder you are opening. if you go to the maxis>EAgames>sims2 the file should be there.

no, as long as you move your folder of custom content out of my documents/EA Games/The Sims 2 then your CC will be fine
