Jericho and Nineveh are two quite different cities, each at various times with its own walls. Jericho is believed to be one of the oldest walled cities in history. Each time the city was abandoned then later resettled, its walls were rebuilt, not always in the same location or using the same technique. The walls of Jericho were destroyed by earthquake sometime prior to 1500 BCE and not rebuilt until the Israelite period, almost a thousand years later.
A:The walls of Jericho appear to have collapsed during an earthquake in the sixteenth century BCE, resulting in the abandonment of the city, although the Book of Joshua attributes this destruction to Joshua some one and a half centuries later. 1 Kings 16:34 tells how Hiel the Bethelite rebuilt the walls for the new Israelite city of Jericho, offering up his eldest son, Abiram, as a sacrifice for the successful completion of the walls, and his youngest son, Segub, for the construction of the gates.

Yes it was, just like Québec City. Montreal's walls were first constructed as wood in the 17th century and then rebuilt in stone from 1717-1738. They never saw battle, however, and the growing city found them more a hindrance than anything else. By 1817, they were gone, but you can see what remains of the walls just north of City Hall in Champ-de-Mars.
