Selective Permeability
The cell membrane, a complicated part of the cell maintains homeostasis. There is a lot of chemistry to it and the way that the membrane is made up of maintains homeostasis.
They maintain homeostasis through their cell membrane letting only some minerals get in and out. This gives the plant energy and allows the plant to have nutrition. The plants move to the sun and open their stems and buds.
Selective Permeability
Selective (or differential) permeability allows the cell to regulate its internal environment and maintain internal homeostasis. This is also the basis by which a neuron (nerve cell) can 'fire' and send a message along its axon - it selectively allows one electrolyte then a different electrolyte to flow across its cell membrane and change the electrochemical gradient.
It is important to remember the following: Animal cell: Cell membrane, Plant cell: Cell membrane, cell wall. The role of a cell membrane is to monitor what exits and enters the cell and therefore maintain the internal environment of it, to contain the contents of the cell and to provide some sort of protection for it. The role of a cell wall which is unique only to plant cells, is to protect the cell inside and lend support to it so it can maintain its stucture.

The selective permeability of a cells membrane helps the cell to maintain homeostasis because it controls what goes in and out of the cell. This is extremely important for the health of the cell.
The cell membrane allows substances in and out of the cell and is a crucial part of homeostasis
The property of a membrane or other material that allows some substances to pass through it more easily than others.Selective permeability refers to the control that a cell membrane has in terms of what it allows to cross it. This gives the cell membrane the ability to choose which molecules enter or leave.
Selective Permeability
Diffusion allows waste chemicals to move down a concentration gradient. The chemicals will move from an area of high concentration (inside the cell) to areas of lower concentration (outside of the cell) via the cell membrane. This is also an example of passive transport.
The function of a cell membrane is to allow certain things in, such as nutrients, ans out such as toxin wastes out of the cell. This allows the cell to get what it needs in order to function. If a cell is functioning properly, then the body is staying homeostasis.
