Obadiah.
The book of Obadiah has a single theme - judgment upon Edom, the nation that was descended from Esau. The Edomites were trying to control trade routes, and would often go out on raiding expeditions and then retreat to their capital, Sela (now known as Petra). Petra was cut out of solid cliffs of rose-colored rock, and overlooked a valley of marvelous beauty. There was only one path in, through a narrow path that would require even a large army to enter single file. The Edomites felt secure in their stronghold, and it seemed unlikely that harm could come to them.
Obadiah prophecied the complete destruction of the Edomites (vv. 10, 16, 18), and that a remnant of Judah would be saved (vv. 17, 19, 21). History has shown the prophecy was fulfilled precisely as Obadiah said it would happen.

The Edomites were a Semitic people. Their ancestors, like those of the Canaanites and Hebrews, are believed to have come from the Arabian peninsula.Genesis 36:1 gives their biblical ancestor as Edom, "who is Esau." Robert M. Price (The Christ Myth Theory and Its Problems) believes that the Edomites believed that the first man created was Edom (which means 'man'), and that he entered Israelite law to become 'Adam', with Edom becoming gradually Esau, as the ancestor of the Edomites.
He was a prophet and a leader of the Jewish community in the land of Judah, before and during the First Destruction (some 2500 years ago), and for a brief period after that, in the Babylonian exile. He warned about the Destruction beforehand. See also the attached Related Link.
Obadiah wrote his prophecy against Edom. Not much is known about Obadiah, but probably was from the southern kingdom (Judah) and possible wrote from there. The Edomites were descendants of Esau. Later in history they were forced to move to the area of southern Palestine and became known as Idumeans. Herod the Great was an Idumean. Obadiah predicted that the Edomites would be "cut off forever" and after 70 A.D. while trying to defend Jerusalem along with the Jews, the Edomites were never heard of again as a kingdom.
