It's only for looks. normally the gun works better without it because the bullet has to bounce inside the barrel and that slows it down alot
Push the back prongs into the slots of the Longstrike. Then, take the barrel extension and rotate it to about a 120 degree angle. Insert it into the slot and push it in.
The Longshot's barrel extension does decrease the firing range, by roughly five feet. This is because the elongated barrel causes more friction with the dart as it travels through it.
Barrel extensions and stocks *only recon raider longstrike alphatrooper spectre deploy longshot* and scopes laser pointers & stuff for tactical rails
yes, it has two on the normal gun on the top, and two more on the barrel extension: one on the top and one on the bottom.
Yes, a lot further. A barrel extension of any kind increases friction, slowing down the dart.
The Nerf LongStrike's max shooting range is 35ft with the long barrel on the end but when it is off it shoots about 23ft.
The Nerf Company says it shoots 30-35 feet without mods, and with the barrel extenstion. The barrel extension shortens range, but give accuracy. There are 2 main types of mods, including the removal of the Air Restrictor. These mods greatly affect the power and range of the gun.

You can use the N-strike Recon CS-6 barrel (good gun, I recommend it)
You most likely have some sort of problem with the new one. If it is the Longstrike, Recon, or Longshot, try removing the barrel. If it is anything else, than your old Nerf gun is really well-made and you should give kudos to whoever got it for you or whatever store you bought it from.
They are made, believe it or not, to fire darts at the same speed. The Longstrike doesn't shoot as far because the dart has to travel farther to leave the blaster, which causes unnecessary friction. This is made worse if you attach the barrel.
It is just a barrel extension, it does nothing.
