The veil of ignorance is called Maya or cosmic illusion. This veil has two powers. It conceals the truth, it projects the myth. Everything in this world appears to be real, but in reality it's like a dream. Just like a dream looks very real as long as we are sleeping, but when we wake up we realize it's a dream, so also, this world looks real. At death we realize nothing is real, nothing belongs to us. There is a veil of ignorance, it becomes a blanket because of the darkness and we suffer in this ignorance because we believe in the superstitions, the rituals, the myths we have been taught and we grow up with. How do we remove this veil of ignorance? Through enlightenment, through realization of the truth. This is our life's biggest goal to realize we are the Soul.
