there are different kinds, for example, i know someone who is a CNA (certified nursing assistant) and that required about three years of college. a full doctor would need a doctors degree, in the medical field. there's trauma doctors, local doctors, and specialized doctors (brain surgeons, nerve docs., so on) to name a few. these would require around six years of college. i'm not quite sure what the requirement for a nurse is.
