Just ask them if they are atheist, theist or agnostic. most won't be ashamed to tell you.

However if they don't agree with your simple 3 category breakdown you might get an answer like None of those, Secularist, pagan, Rastafarian, Epicurean, Stoic, Freethinker, etc. You will then have to shuffle your categories.

Is Warren an atheist?

No, he's an agnostic, meaning that he's not sure whether there's a God or not.

What do you call it if someone does not believe in god?

Atheist - If he is sure there there is no specific god because of the impossibility and/or improbability of his existence. Agnostic - Not sure whether there is a god or not. Usually does not care. An atheist is the opposite of a theist. The theist believes there is evidence for the existence of their favorite god. The atheist does not. It would be illogical for the atheist to "deny" the existence of something for which there is no evidence. Atheism is merely the lack of a belief. Knowledge is absolute. Since nobody can know with absolute certainty no gods exist, everyone is agnostic. So the so-called "agnostic" has the same lack of knowledge as the atheist or theist has. It's just commonly accepted that an agnostic does not commit either way.

What is it called if you aren't sure what your religious believes are?

An atheist is a person who believes that there is no God. An agnostic is a person who is not sure whether or not God exists or who believes that we cannot know whether God exists or not.

What do you call someone who is not sure whether they do or do not believe in God?

Atheist.AnswerIn short, the answer is atheist, but a clarification is warrented here because atheist/theist isn't the only label needed to describe what someone believes on this subject, and it can get confusing. The person in question is atheist because belief in a deity is a positive claim and said person is not claiming to believe in any form of a deity. i.e. Any answer other than "yes" to the question "do you believe in a deity?" makes you an atheist. This includes an answer of "I don't know."However, this also means they are agnostic. The two terms are not mutually exclusive. Agnostic/gnostic describes what you claim to know while atheist/thiest goes to what you believe. So, because the answer to "do you believe in a deity?" would be "no" or, more likely, "I don't know" this makes them atheist. The fact they are not claiming to know either way also makes them agnostic. Also, in addition to "agnostic atheist," due to the unsure nature of the person, the person may also be described as a "weak" agnostic atheist. "Strong" agnostic atheist would be used to describe someone like Richard Dawkins who doesn't believe in a diety, doesn't claim to know this is sure, but he thinks it is very unlikely as so lives as if there is no diety. Note: strong does not mean gnostic... it only means you've very sure and it would require a lot of solid evidence to convince you of the existence of a deity.Gnostic atheists would be those that claim to know for a fact there is no deity. There are very few of these, and I actually can't think of any well-known atheists that are gnostic on the subject. To sum up:Agnostic/gnostic - what you claim to knowAtheist/theist - what you claim to believeWeak/strong - how certain you are of a position (As noted above: strong does not mean gnostic.)

If you're not sure about god are you an atheist?

No. An atheist (no god or without god) is sure that they don't believe in gods. However not being sure has a name as well, it is most often called agnostic (not knowing) behavior. From "not being sure" you may progress through studying the question and discussing the issue to being either an atheist, agnostic or theist. A fourth option, non-theist, best describes groups like Buddhists who don't feel the issue of whether there is a god or not is worthwhile pursuing.

What is another word for not religious?

I'm pretty sure they call themselves agnostic, meaning one who believes that it is impossible to know whether there is a God or one who is skeptical about the existence of God but does not profess true atheism.I'm not sure that words like agnostic and atheist work completely. The question asks about a person without religion, which is a practice. It is altogether possible for someone to believe in the deity and not be practicing a particular religion. Unchurched may be a word that comes closer to actually meaning a person without religion.

A person who does not believe in god?

An atheist, agnostic, humanist, secularist, or just a non believer. If the capitalization of "God" means the question really is asking "What is a person who doesn't believe in my God?" the answer can be extended to include members of any religion other than yours (e.g. If you're Christian: Moslems, Sikhs, Hindus, Buddhists, Taoists, Pastafarians, Jains, Wiccans, Shintoists, etc.) Typically, one who does not believe in any deity at all is called an atheist. One who believes that it is impossible to know whether or not a deity exists is usually called an agnostic.

Does Zac Efron want to go to heaven?

Zac Efron is an agnostic, that is, someone who does not know whether there is a God. Therefore, his answer would be "Yes, if there is a heaven."

What was the atheist masterpiece?

The term "Atheist Masterpiece" is meaningless. A masterpiece, whether done by a theist or atheist is just a thing, not an opinion or position,

Are there any atheist politicians?

There are many; in the UK one the main parties is led by an atheist. Doubtless there have been others - Winston Churchill was not religious and described himself as agnostic. Across the world there must be many - even some who find it convenient to seem to belong to a religion. There is debate as to whether or not Abraham Lincoln was an atheist: he certainly wasn't a Christian, and he never claimed to follow any other religion.
