How can you improve lack of understanding between doctor and patient?
One could think of the stress put upon doctors on a daily basis. Think of the stress level a doctor has, they are required to see hundreds of patients everyday, and they have a constant worry of their insurances. Also, doctors should be aware of any problem a patient has, and if they do not communicate well. Just try to place yourself in each others shoes, and you can greatly improve understanding. Answer The patient must not be afraid to ask the doctor questions about his or her own health. The doctor is getting paid for each individual patient's time in his office and it is his DUTY to answer any questions the patient has and ensure that the patient understands his answers. If a doctor gets so busy he cannot, in a reasonable period of time, answer the patient's questions in a manner that is easily understood by the particular patient, then the doctor needs to cut back on his appointments for the day and improve quality time with patients instead of quantity to fill his pockets. There IS a balance that can be met with time and quality of care when the doctor so chooses. When someone cannot get questions answered because the doctor is "too busy" then you need to find a different doctor.

Yes, I think that a doctor should acknowledge and honor just about anything a patient says. If the patient is ignored or feels ignored, then the doctor needs to try to help the patient so they can keep the patient with his/her services.
